God of War Laufey: pre-orders are open, and Faye draws her Serpent Bow

The saga has a new face. After Kratos and Atreus, Faye takes the lead in God of War Laufey, the next game from Santa Monica Studio. It launches on February 16, 2027 on PS5, and pre-orders opened on September 29 alongside a new trailer.

Faye, Phranque and Rue in the Empyrean

Fans already know the name: Laufey is Faye, Atreus’s mother, whose shadow hung over the last two games. This time, you play as her. The adventure takes place in the Empyrean, described as the afterlife of the gods, and Faye won’t be alone: she is joined by Phranque, a creature that can launch enemies into the air, and by Rue. Sony is still keeping the story under wraps.

The Serpent Bow, at the heart of combat

After the Leviathan Axe and the Blades of Chaos, the new signature weapon is an enchanted bow that turns into a serpent. It goes from rest to a nocked arrow in an instant, and chains with other attacks, up close or at range.

• Precision mode: full aim, longer range, and shots that can hinder an enemy. Faye can stack up to five arrows for a volley.
• Hip fire: a more mobile stance, with short-range volleys to juggle airborne enemies.
• Several arrow types: rapid fire, explosive detonations, multiple targets.
• Customization: bow scales, blades, catalysts and armor, each with their own effects.

Editions and bonuses

• Pre-order bonus: “Last Will” armor, a “Golden Leaves” look for Phranque and a resource pack.
• Digital Deluxe Edition: the “Dark Alchemy” set (armor, blade, bow scales and catalyst), a resource pack, a digital mini artbook and the soundtrack.
• Collector’s Edition (€149.99, sold only by PlayStation): a 20 cm light-up figure of Faye and Phranque, 51 Oracle cards illustrated by Megan Lara and a mini artbook. The game is not included.

See you on February 16 to discover Faye’s story. Are you ready to trade the axe for the bow?
